The hotel has been a favourite with sportsmen since the Victorian Times, overlooking the headland and a stone?s throw from the excellent salmon fishing on the Halladale River. The oldest parts of the building date back to the 1830s and the stone face of the building is dated 1895 showing the original inn?s development. Since changing hands in 2007, the hotel has been refurbished and refreshed whilst retaining its timeless rural charm. Taking our lead from the stunning backdrop of sand, sea, heather and peat, the hotel is naturally decorated throughout offering a compliment to the area?s natural beauty. The hotel has 12 guest bedrooms offering either standard rooms or master suites. Our standard double twin rooms offer comfortable and well appointed accommodation for your north coast break. The room decor reflect the natural surroundings with contemporary fabrics and design. Each room has an en suite shower room and can be booked with a sea view where available. Spacious and elegantly designed, our master suites give you the chance to enjoy a more indulgent break. Sand and heather colours with stone accents compliment the view over Melvich Bay and the Pentland Firth. Each room has an en suite bath and shower room and can offer either twin or double king sized beds. These rooms can also be adapted for family or multi-person stays. Packed lunches can be supplied on request for those heading out for day excursions or making the most of the excellent fishing on the local rivers.
